Gambier Island
Gambier Island, British ColumbiaGAMBIER ISLAND is a "boat access only" island very close to Vancouver, British Columbia. These 700 magnificent acres of oceanfront property with 3.5 miles of spectacular waterfront are roughly midway along the east side of Gambier, which is a large island in Howe Sound. It's about 20 minutes by boat from the B.C. Ferry Terminal at Horseshoe Bay which is just 20 minutes by car from downtown Vancouver and two hours from the famous "Whistler" ski slopes. The area is well known throughout the world and extremely popular with boaters and visitors to the Pacific Northwest, everyone enjoying the fantastic natural beauty. There is an abundance of wildlife along with excellent fishing, diving & kayaking - to mention only a few activities. There are spectacular views of the mainland mountains and numerous bays and coves. "Brigade Bay", with its beautiful south facing "Big Beach" and well protected Marina location, offers a safe, deep water moorage for a multitude of boaters in even the most extreme weather conditions. The property is well treed with a good "heavy duty" roadway running about 1000 feet back from the waterfront for the full length of the property. Parts of the property are being selectively logged as seen in the accompanying photos. It is subdividable into 66 waterfront lots of good drivable and walkable terrain, each approximately 4 acres average size. All owners would have collective use of protected Brigade Bay for moorage. The balance of property would be communal parkland. The property has good sun exposure and there are several cold, fresh water streams running through it. Drilling for wells for additional fresh water supply should not be a problem. A wonderful exclusive retreat, a great group purchase or just a good investment for the development potential. |
