Life on the Island For five years, the owners have spared no expense in transformimg this private island and its impressive buildings into what can easily be regarded as a first class getaway. Five buildings, totalling 15,000 square feet, have been constructed on the island. The main house at the centre of the island is the largest at 5,000 square feet. Each of the buildings was constructed with the finest European and American materials. For example, the 30 foot high cypress cathedral ceiling brings a feeling of majesty to the main building. The guest rooms are located in the three bungalows surrounding the main house, totalling 8 double rooms that can be rented for up to 14 guests. In the residences, each of the suites have been carefully constructed. The king size master suite contains a unique central glass shower and a bathtub for two, all in a setting of granite imported from Brazil. There is a very unique feel to each of the six queen size guest rooms. Each has a special name, colourful decor and a view of either the Sea of Abaco or the Atlantic Ocean or both. All rooms, as well as the main house, have air conditioning. All of the spacious rooms have their own private bathrooms, with large vanities. The professional gourmet kitchen has been designed to present the finest cuisine. Elegant French, spicy Asian, tropical Bahamian or tasty American are all served. Emphasis is placed on fresh local seafood. With prior notice to your arrival, your every culinary request will be turned into reality For Your Enjoyment After swimming and snorkelling, you may wish to partake in some less exhausting activities. A full size pool table, bumper/pin ball table, poker table, a game of chess or dominos are all available. You can relax watching large screen satellite television complete with a Bose sound system or choose from a large collection of DVDs. In the mood for dancing? A DJ sound system with lighting effects will tempt you to dance the night away. Need a drink? Take a seat at the exquisite handmade maple bar and enjoy a refreshing tropical drink. Coffee, tea, sodas, juices and alcoholic beverages are always available. Island Activities Spend time in the water watching the activities of the local sea life. Take a swim at low tide around the island's own coral reef and see a multitude of coral and fish. Snorkelling equipment as well as sea kayaks are provided for your use. Professional diving or fishing tours can also be arranged. If you wish to be on the water but not in it, an island boat and captain are ready to take you on a tour of all the nearby highlights or to picnic on a deserted beach. At the end of the day, take an evening cruise on one of the sea kayaks, to enjoy some of the most beautiful sunsets you will ever witness. If you start feeling guilty about all of the excellent food you have been enjoying, the island is furnished with a well-equipped exercise room with an ocean view. For the golf enthusiast, reservations can be made at Treasure Cay for the par 72, Dick Wilson designed, 18 hole course. Tennis is available on a neighbouring island. Table tennis, badminton and volleyball are all available on the island. How to get there There are numerous commercial flights available daily from Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach or Nassau, destination Treasure Cay, Abaco, Bahamas. Upon your arrival at the Treasure Cay airport, it is a short trip by car to a boat waiting to take you to Bonefish Cay. You can charter a private plane from Florida or Nassau for a short sixty-minute flight to Spanish Cay. Spanish Cay is a port of entry with a 5000-foot runway; from this neighboring island, it is a short trip in our boat to Bonefish Cay. Or after clearing at port of entry, you could land your private helicopter on our helipad right on Bonefish Cay. |
