Private island for sale on beautiful Stuart Lake in British Columbia, Canada. Stuart Lake is the seventh largest lake in British Columbia, around 66 km (41 miles) long and 10 km (6.2 miles) wide, and a fisherman's paradise (rainbow trout, lake trout and kokanee are resident in the lake).
The island is around 1 acre in size and is surrounded by a shallow rocky shelf on its southern side (exposed during low water level, visible in the winter). The island is accessible by boat or floatplane. There is a town on the eastern end of Stuart Lake (Fort St. James) with a population of approximately 2,000. Most amenities one may need can be found there. Fort St. James is accessible by paved road and is located approx. 60 km north of Vanderhoof (pop. 4,500) and 160 km northwest of Prince George (pop. 80,000).
The area is an outdoor enthusiast's paradise with excellent fishing, boating and hunting possibilities. In the winter, snowmobiling and skiing are the activities of choice. The advantage of owning a private island over any other land property is the fact that you have no human neighbors and there simply can't be any property limit disputes.
The island is zoned as residential, so there should not be any problems building a dwelling. Current total yearly taxes are CAD $227.49 (as of 2006).
Island has possible gold or mineral claim. Could be used as a marina with boat fuel and store. Make an offer for a quick sale.
