This large private island is an exceptional wilderness retreat situated in south eastern Alaska, near the Canadian border. Privacy abounds. It is surrounded by 10 miles (16 km) of Tongass National Forest and is the only private property near Anan Creek, site of the largest pink salmon run in Alaska.

Blake Island is nicely elevated with heights reaching 300-400 feet (91 m to 122 m) and covered in old growth spruce, hemlock and cedar. There are several small streams on the island and bedrock beaches and rocky cliffs line its shores. There are spectacular views of neighbouring islands and the Canadian coastal mountains to the east. The island has deep-water access and a cove on the northwest side provides protected moorage.

A great potential building site exists on the heights above the cove. The waters around the island are frequented by humpback whales, killer whales, pilot whales, seals and sea lions.

The fishing is fantastic. 75% of the island is available for sale - the remaining quarter is part of the Tongass National Forest.

However, as the National Forest land is without practical year-round access, and the Forest Management Plan prohibits timber sales on Blake Island except in case of a catastrophic event, by purchasing 3/4 of the island, the new owner will essentially enjoy 100% of its landmass.
