Halsey Island

Extraordinary private home on a private island in New Jersey's largest lake - Lake Hopatcong. Only one hour from New York City and only accessible by boat, this island takes its vistors from the modern world to yesteryear.

The Residence

The primary residence on this island retreat is a 100 year old Dutch colonial home. The furniture is mission style with a smattering of European antiques. The house contains all wood interiors. The residence sleeps 11 people. Lake water is pumped up from the lake and into the house to the kitchen and bathrooms. Note that there are many stone steps from the dock to the front door.

The Island

There is a big boat house with a 75' dock, and a sandy beach area with shallow water for young kids. There is deep water off the end of the dock. Diving board and fanny-grabbing slide at the end of the dock.
