Isla del Encanto is located on the Pacific Coast of the small Central America country of El Salvador. It’s about a 10-minute drive to the border of Guatemala, and a two-hour drive over a two-lane paved highway to El Salvador’s capital city, San Salvador, with a population of three million people.
San Salvador’s international airport (SAL) has direct air service to the U.S. The adjoining fishing village of Garita Palmera is accessed by a two-lane dirt road off of the main highway. The island can be accessed by water either by kayak, canoe or panga (open boat with motor). During extremely low tides, the tide flat can be crossed by four-wheel drive vehicle.
