This Levy County island is 4 acres in size, located next to an island called Hodges Island, which has electricity. The island is situated in Levy County Florida, right off the coast of Yankeetown. Yankeetown is minutes from Crystal River, Florida, on the Gulf Coast - the west side of Florida.
The island is centrally located: about 30 minutes from Ocala, 1 hour from Tampa , 2 hours to Orlando (Disney World), and is near Homossassa River and Homossassa Springs State Park, Weeki Watchee Park, and many Manatee filled natural Florida springs.
This area of Florida is locally referred to as The Hidden Coast. The island itself is pristine and "old Florida tropical" in setting. The only way to get to the island is by boat. It is completely private. The island is zoned single family residential.
The island base is composed of rock, not sand, meaning it will never "wash" away in a storm. The island is filled with lush vegetation including mangroves, palm trees, and many other tropical plants. Porpoises frequent the area around this island and can be seen frolicking in the warm water surrounding. There are no structures on the island, but the three islands that surround Levy County island have houses that people use as vacation getaways.
Levy County island is both beautiful and very unique.
