Preston Island

This private island is situated in Howe Sound, minutes from the city of Vancouver. It features a stunning residence, built in 1994. The 1600 sq. foot (149 sq. metre) main floor makes great use of wood, including polished oak flooring and exposed beams. A huge fireplace of cut stone is located in the living room, and the fully equipped kitchen is top of the line.

A 1200 sq. foot (112 sq. meter) glassed-in cedar deck surrounds the living room, kitchen and master bedroom. Upstairs, there are 4 guest rooms. Outside, a salt water swimming pool is available for your enjoyment. A network of walking paths covers the island, and a mossy outcropping at the north end provides an ideal picnic location. Also included is a boathouse, 70 foot (21 m) concrete dock offering deep moorage, and a hydraulic dry dock, capable of accomodating boats up to 25 feet (7.6 m) in length. Electricity is supplied by 2 propane generators (12.5 KW and 4 KW). A desalination plant with a 35-40 gallon (132-150 litre) per hour capacity, and 500 gallon (1893 litre) storage capacity provides fresh water.
