Where is Seldovia?
Seldovia is 17 miles southeast of Homer, Alaska. This small fishing village is full time home to under 300 residents, however our summer population grows to around 900 folks. We are unaccesible by road, therefore the only ways to get to our town are by small bush planes, private and charter boats, as well as the Alaska Marine Highway. If you are looking for a quiet place, to get away from city life, Seldovia is perfect. Lots of wildlife all around: eagles, bears and many sea and river otters. The salmon and halibut fishing are the best in the area. The King salmon run comes right up past the island and into the Seldovia Slough every May. Take a look at Seldovia, it is a special place and when you visit, you too will be enchanted by her charm.
