Privacy here is a given! This large historic cottage, guest cottage and Bunkie are filled with wonderful antiques and are nestled amoung 150 year old pine trees on their very own private 5 acre island.
The incredible 'Boat House Cottage' sits right at the water's edge with a large deck looking out over a beautiful quiet bay. The interior is a virtual antique showcase and has an oak spiral staircase leading to the sleeping loft. This Boat House Cottage, sleeping a maximum of 4 people, is available only when booking the main property, and is $1,295 per week. Please note it is not rented independently of the main property. The beautiful secluded sand beach has water entry that is shallow and safe for the young ones, and there is deep water off the dock for diving. Sitting on the deck gives you an incredible view out over a large quiet bay, and you can listen to the loons as you have a perfect view of the sunset. The island has mixed terrain, perfect for hiking and exploring, and you can't get lost - the hiking paths are covered with a thick layer of pine needles! The cottages have great character with wood floors throughout. The large living room is a wonderful gathering place for everyone to tell stories and share the day's experiences around the stone fireplace. Wahwashkesh Lake is a very large, pristine and un-populated lake, providing great fishing (pickerel, SM bass, northern pike, lake trout). This is ideal for the true 'get away and relax' holiday where you can spend real time with the family, playing, reading, enjoying the sunset while sitting by the bonfire on the beach.....the exposure is south and west and the sunsets speak for themselves.
There is complimentary parking at the landing and boat rentals are nearby. Flight tours can also be arranged nearby. The island is just over 1 km. from the landing, approximately 2.5 hours drive from Toronto, 45 minutes from Parry Sound. This is truly a paradise island that exudes a rich sense of history and serenity.
LOCATION: on a private island at the south east side of the lake in Paddy's Bay, about a 5 minute boat ride from Auld's Landing, about 45 minutes from Parry Sound.
PREVIOUS RENTER'S COMMENTS: ...comfortably accommodate all of us, areas and activities for all ages ...a family came here with a dream and left with a memory a shoebox couldn't hold ...the lake is perfectly quiet, fishing was great, island is perfectly wonderful ...old and well maintained cottage and appropriate and tasteful furnishings ...out of 8 years of renting cottages, Pine View was the BEST! - had an incredible time ...cozy and welcoming ...true paradise for the 2nd time - we rejuvenated, relaxed, played - perfect place to continue nourishing our close family ...shooting stars ...awesome; photos didn't do it justice ...separate quarters gave everyone their own space ...beach was fantastic...
