Hello all- I'm a new user here and you guys have a super web site and forum here. There is some very interesting reading for those who are share interest in Islands.

I just wanted to let everyone know I have a beautiful Island with a new home located at Smith Mountain Lake, VA about 30 miles from Roanoke. I just completed the house last year but have to make a move for personal family reasons so I have to sell the Island and home.

Just curious . .
On which island is the home located?
What is the asking price . . and is it for the entire island, or a lot on the island?
How much are annual property taxes?
Are there association fees?

A link to a Google or Bing maps aerial might provide a better perspective.

The Island was originally called Cullins Island - the parcel includes the whole island which is 3 acres above water and around 50 acres under the water. The Island also includes a deeded lot on the mainland just across the cove. The annual taxes are $2800 yr.

Not sure this will work but here's a Google map of the lake - the island is just about in the center of the map. SML is a beautiful lake with crystal clear water.

Our island was called Goat Island - as a matter of fact, the image at the top of the page is Carters Island - if you look to the right of the image (not real clear) that's our island in the foreground.
