Good Evening Everyone,
when living upon and within the island, i have come across some concerns. namely that the eventuality of having to discard trash and the alike. another aspect of island living is the properties of recycling. it might be fine and dandy to live on the island, but unless you and the community near you recycles, you might make island living even worse.
I know that power sources and water sources are major concerns when living on an island. but recycling and getting rid of your normal household trash is also important. most people will say that they wanted their privacy, which i can agree with, but remember that the island is also a home where trash and discards also are displayed.
I would suggest that perhaps it might be a wise idea to get a high capacity paper shredder, for it means that newspapers, magazines, and other mail can be easily shredded, and placed for proper disposal or recycling. Is there a section of Private Island Living that speaks about recycling, for it should be addressed for the information of everyone ! Have a good day, enjoy the Longest Night Of The Year next week !!!

My garden on my Uncle's island grows some of the the largest finest vegetables I've every seen. I'm pretty sure it's compelety organic and the soil is mixed from composted material, both from and of off the island.
Composting and burning (not hazerdous materials) are great ways of recycling on an island. Thor451 has brought up shredding, does anyone else have ideas of efficient ways to recycle/reuse for island island living? _________________ No man is an island who owns one |

Good Evening Every Island Lover,
you would be completely surprised at the medinical values you can find within your own house. because it has never been taught to you, you have things lying around the house and garden which can prove of benefit to you ! for instance, ever been bitten by a bee , wasp, or hornet ? the easiest remedy for those nasty stings is by placing meat tenderiser upon them. in a short time, the sweeling will have gone done, and it will just be a little itchy. ever gotten a sunburn ? the answer for treating your skin is simple, simply peel a cucumber, and place the slices upon your sunburn. it will cool the skin, and reduce the burn you have experienced. aloe is also another alternative, and can be used on the skin, but not around nostrils or eyes ! and i saved the weirdest for last, ever had pain in your hands or joints ? the herbal solution to this problem is simple. visit your garden or green grocer, and find the hottest peppers they might have. simply peel the pepper, and place the slices on the joints that hurt. because the pepper contains compounds which work as well as vicoden or better, it will stop the pain. but since it has been localised, it will not affect you. just remember to wash your hands afterwards, unless a burning sensation on another part of the body will result !
