| Check out "Global Warming: A chilling perspective" on google. There is a lot of information there. |

Let me ask you something you live in Morehead City (nice place). How much have you seen the ocean level rise during your lifetime? I don't know how old your are, but I live in Virginia Beach and I have not seen the water level rise in Lynnhaven Inlet in the past 50 years. The highest tide that I have ever seen was in 1961 (Ash Wednesday). Have a nice day. Think for your self. Question everything. Don't just automaticly buy the leftist line. |
I saw a show and in it there was a guy who lived in Hawa'ii for 40 years. When he first built his house, it was far from the ocean. Now, it is right at the waterfront. What do you say, besides sea rise? I would agree with redcute.
About that Chilling Perspective... Yes global warming is a natural trend. However, if you look at the amount of carbon and the temp. rise, you will notice that it is higher in the last 200 years than the times before that. And yes the sea level has risen in the last 10000 years, just because it was going through natural cycles. However, the one in which humans are technologicially advanced and heavy pollutersis much more extreme than the natural ones. And actually, if this global warmingn goes on much longer, it actually will cause an ice age. Enough fresh ice will be melted that after the sea level has risen enough, the Gulf Stream will slow down (this has been observed in the past 50 years) and it will be cold in northern Europe where the Gulf Stream used to bring cold water. |

Oh boy...I hadn't wanted to make this my first post, but the amount of mis-information is astounding.
First off; be careful how much stock you put in "scientific facts", whether it be about "climate change" or the food you eat. Anyone remember how 15-20 years ago eating Eggs would cause: high blood pressure, hardening of the arteries, and a number of other maladies? I do, and there was a huge campaign to change everyone's diets; it was when "Eggbeaters" became popular and you were supposed to avoid eating eggs more than once or twice a week. NOW they are "possibly the world's most perfect food"!!
This is but one example of how science can lead astray from "fact"; even what is/has been considered "fact" is subject to being altered or changed when there is advances in research and understanding in any given subject. I have worked with scientists in the past and they are very passionate about their field of study, and they will argue until they are blue in the face that they are right. They can back it up with charts, graphs, data, etc; but in the end it is all a "scientific wilda@@ guess".
Lets face it; our scientific records get more accurate because we have better technology today than we did several decades ago. So what if we could use todays technology and go back in time, let's say several thousand years ago to do the same data collection. Would the data collected from that time period match what our scientists are saying today about that period?......interesting thought, no?
Do your own homework and believe what you will, but don't expect everyone to agree with you.......we humans are "legends in our own minds". lol
Anyone who questions the seriousness of Global Warming/Climate change should see the movie "An Inconvenient Truth".
This movie really puts Climate Change into perspective.
I have little respect for anyone who belittles this serious problem.
An Inconvenient Truth is full of lies. Al Gore admited he lied. You should check out Global Warming A Chilling Perspective. And stop being so closed minded. You have been brain washed by the global warming guys. |
hey all
I have to recommend the site http://www.ecobridge.org/content/g_evd.htm
its a great site, it just presents the evidence (lots of graphs and charts). The evidence clearly indicates that this is not just a warming trend. It is in the same stream as an inconvenient truth, so if you didn't like the movie I doubt you it will do much to convince you.
I have a question though? even if global warming isn't happening why are people so resistant to reduce carbon emissions. The environmental damage that are current emissions are causing extends far beyond its believed effect on climate.
Ira. There is only a small percentage of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, and it is absolutely esential for plant life. Acording to the National Climatic Data Center we have been having cooling trend for the last 10 years. Don't believe all the global warming propaganda. Check out the facts for your self. Check the NCDC your self and see who is really telling the truth. Also take a look at Global Warming a Chilling Perspective. Do you really want it colder than it is right now? |
