This island is approximately 3.74 acres in size and known locally as Goat Island. It's one hour north of Victoria and one hour south of Nanaimo Lake Cowichan is an easy commute to Vancouver Island.

Cowichan Lake is one of the largest bodies of fresh water on Vancouver Island, BC. The lake is located 20 minutes (31 kilometres) west of Duncan along Highway 18. The lake and world renowned Cowichan River are known as an exceptional recreation area, diverse in sport fishing, hiking and water sports. The pristine blue lake boasts spectacular sunsets and the towering mountains of the Cowichan Valley at the entrance to the Carmanah Walbran Valley.
