India springs to mind for the adventerous traveller, but rarely when one thinks of private islands for rent. However, there is an island in the Canoli canal – a man made canal built during British rule. In otherwise crowded India, you'll only have to share your island with Brahminy Kites, Pond Herons, King Fishers and crabs. The cottage is designed and built according to Vasthu, an ancient Indian knowledge of architecture promising peace, prosperity and happiness to the inhabitants. Here's to hoping...
