Islands for Sale in Indonesia

Indonesia spans an area the size of the US, consisting of many separate islands that developed in isolation. That kind of isolation among islands of the same country affects both the physical and cultural makeup of a region. Indonesia reveals some interesting biodiversity in its nature, but on a human level, some serious ethnic tensions exist in this country, often leading to violence. Indonesia's economy suffered in the 90s as a result of the financial crisis that struck most of Asia. Whereas its economy has stabilized somewhat, its location is unlikely to do the same. Indonesia rests on the edge of tectonic plates, meaning the country is frequently hit by earthquakes and the resultant tsunamis. In recent times, this devastation has been all too apparent.
