Macan Island, Indonesia

A pair of picture-perfect tropical private coral islands in the Pulau Seribu (“1000 Islands”) group, 45 miles off the coast of West Java, Indonesia, with accommodation and extensive facilities for groups of 12 (or even more if needed).

Location

  • Coordinates: S 05°35.884’, E 106°33.007'
  • In ‘blue water in' the Java Sea, 45 nautical miles (2 hours by fast boat) from Ancol Marina, in North Jakarta, Indonesia.
  • In the “Pulau Seribu” (“Thousand Islands”) group of 200 or so similar coral islands, some of which host resorts, while others are privately owned as well.
  • Ancol Marina can be reached from Jakarta International Airport ( a 90 minutes flight from Singapore) in 20-30 minutes via safe, congestion-free toll road, avoiding Jakarta City completely.
  • Full transportation arrangements, including airport transfers and sea transport are available.

Accomodation

Accomodation on Pulau Macan is in 3 separate bungalows, each with two double bedrooms and its own bathroom facilities.

The “White House” is the latest addition to the island. It has airconditioning in both bedrooms and is located closest to the central facilities.

Bungalow III is located very privately at the tip of the island and has two very spacious bedrooms on a first floor over a storage area.

Bungalow II is the smallest of the three and consists of two double rooms with veranda.

Facilities

The island has the following facilities and equipment:

  • 3 bungalows each with two double rooms and own bathrooms
  • Multi-purpose building with bar, pool table and buffet
  • Barbeque pit
  • 3 traditional thatched gazebos
  • 40 m2 wooden deck hanging out over the coral reef
  • Jetty
  • Supply boat (also used for ‘island hopping’)
  • 2 small rowing boats
  • 2 generators (12000KW / 3000KW)
  • Fridge and freezer
  • Island-wide lighting
  • Water tower with 4000 liter of fresh water
