MacKenzie Island, Minnesota

Located on a premier lake in the heart of the Chippewa National Forest, this rare, magnificent private island property boats a two-bedroom log-sided main house as well as three recently remodeled guest cabins. A bath-house/workshop, playground and boat launch rest in an enchanting 1.9 acre park-like setting, including approximately 1,250 feet of clear, sandy shoreline. Turtle Lake, known for some of the finest trophy fishing in northern Minnesota, is over 2,100 acres in size with over 22 miles of shoreline. The songs of ducks and loons can be heard from your cabin, as MacKenzie Island includes numerous species of waterfowl.

Some of the main house amenities include a beadboard ceiling and wet bar in the four-season porch, solid oak distressed flooring, native White Cedar ceilings throughout and custom oak cabinetry with slide-outs and open glass displays. Along with a guest bedroom, main floor laundry, mud room and a five-person breakfast bar, the main house is further appointed with a custom cultured stone fireplace, walk-in closets and a seven-person hot tub.

The guest cabins, located between five and twenty-five feet of the water's edge, include either one or two bedrooms each. Most cabins feature a kitchen and environmentally-friendly composting toilets. The largest of these cabins is insulated and has a free-standing fireplace woodstove ready to warm up cold-weather adventurers.

Enjoy the beautiful lakefront at the water's edge from the swimming platform or at the sugar sand beach near the guest cabins. Extensive and colourful flowerbeds array the island, lending a peaceful garden atmosphere in addition to apple trees and grapevines for harvest.
