Message from the staff at Private Islands
Online
Dear
Subscribers,
This month’s newsletter has a
decidedly continental theme; Private Islands Online is proud to
feature new island properties hailing from all corners of the world.
Three unique Thai properties have just come onto the market. The
islands are connected to the mainland (and each other) at low tide
by a sandbar, enabling easy access. During high tide, the islands
are cut off from both each other and the mainland. This natural
phenomenon makes them “one of a kind” in the region. Did we mention
what else makes these islands so unique to the region? They're
FREEHOLD properties.
The Australia section
of Private Islands Online is one of the most visited areas of the
site. For all you fans of things down under, Zuna Island should not
be missed. Just three hours from Cairns, this freehold property has
great residential or development potential.
And speaking of
interesting climes, Finland boasts thousands of lakes and islands;
187,888 lakes and 179,584 islands to be precise. We’re happy to
feature one of Finland’s myriad archipelagos; this sylvan beauty on
Saimaa lake includes three islands totalling over 5 acres of land.
This nordic collection of islands rests on the 5th largest lake in
Europe and is connected to the Baltic Sea.
Maine, with its
dramatic shorelines and woodsy views, is a much-coveted location on
the east coast. But at one-tenth the price, Canada’s Nova Scotia
provides a viable alternative; especially with its friendly locals,
efficient transportation and great fishing. The market in Nova
Scotia remains hot, hot, hot, even if the temperatures do not. We’ve
recently listed three new and affordable islands on Private Islands
Online: Bumbo, Plumb, and Antigonish Harbour Island. Own these
lovely properties at a fraction of what a similar property might
cost on the eastern U.S. seaboard.
Ontario’s Geogian Bay
is another Canadian hotspot. Leonard Island, a 10.5 acre vacant
island property with 1900 feet of water frontage sits in one of the
most desired area of Sans Souci just inside the open waters of
Georgian Bay. This island has lots of building sites and fabulous
long views of the channel and neighbouring islands.
