Message from the staff at Private Islands Online

Dear Subscribers,

This month, Private Islands Online offers a veritable smorgasbord of Central American islands. Located on the Caribbean Sea, Honduras is fast becoming the savvy expatriate's choice for easy living. Gone are the days when retiring down south meant Florida... instead, keep going two hours south of Miami to Honduras.

French Caye, a new listing offered this month, is just off the southern coast of Roatan - the most famous of the 60 cays comprising Honduras' Bay Islands. The area is a diver's dream; renowned for its calm waters, great visibility and a constant water temperature of 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Dive shops in the area are as abundant as the marine life. The islands are also English-speaking, so living and doing business in Honduras is simple.

Even further south is Nsonga Island in Uganda... a unique property located on the waters of Lake Victoria, the largest tropical lake in world. The southern region of Uganda includes a substantial portion of the lake. Nsonga Island is only 6 miles from Entebbe, located in southern Uganda - an area that has been politically stable for almost 30 years.

Cape Breton on Canada's east coast is the 75th largest island in the world. Private Islands Online is pleased to feature Ingonish Island for sale... another beauty in Canada's impressive island roster. Geological evidence suggests that at least part of Cape Breton Island was originally joined with present-day Scotland and Norway, now separated by millions of years of continental drift. Alistair MacLeod, the author of "No Great Mischief", is one of Cape Breton's most famous residents. His successful novel was followed in 2000 by the aptly named "Island", which collects in a single volume all of MacLeod's previously published short stories.

Lastly, for island enthusiasts of the "try before you buy" school of thought, Private Islands Online will be expanding its rental section soon. Stay tuned...
