The CAT Ferry is available out of Portland Maine, Bay Ferriers: The CAT Tourism Nova Scotia. This property is being sold ( AS IS ) yes it does need some tender loving care. Twenty minutes into Carleton there is a Post Office, B&B, outfitter store, with gas and groceries. Yarmouth is a large town forty minutes from Echo Island, and has everything you could need.

Nova Scotia, being warmed by the Gulfstream has milder winters than the rest of Canada and parts of the North Easter U.S. Check for the seasonal temperatures of the City of Yarmouth, in southern Nova Scotia to get an idea of what to expect. Yarmouth has an airport and there is an international airport located just east in Halifax. Oak Island and its famous mystery money is nearby as well as nice beaches to enjoy. There are also many lighthouses to visit and don't forget you can meet the lobster boats in the harbors and get fresh caught lobsters at a fraction of the price you would pay elsewhere. Hunting, fishing abounds as well as hiking, boating and scenic drives. There are many festivals to enjoy as well as historical places to visit.
