If one chooses, they can drive and then hop on the boat for a 15 minute boat ride to the islands. The Rosario Islands were declared a National Park and Aquatic Reserve in 1977. The sea flora and fauna, mangroves and island lagoons are the home of over 1300 species of plants and animals. A 45 minute boat ride through the bay of Cartagena, then off towards the peninsula of Baru and out towards the islands.
The islands offer the best snorkeling and scuba diving in the area. There are remote uninhabited islands to visit, islands that are the homes of the nesting Frigates, pelicans and other bird species. There is a fabulous aquarium to visit and in Baru, a wonderful new bird sanctuary that recently opened in 2016.There are wonderful trips through the lagoons into remote mangroves and into magnificent, pristine lagoons.
Coco Solo is located on one of these islands in the Rosario Archipelago. It can accommodate up to 18 guests but 15 comfortably.
The property offers 5 bungalows each with a full bathroom complete with shower. Three of the bungalows each have a king size bed and 3 day beds. The fourth bedroom has 3 single beds and the fifth bungalow is a two storey bungalow. This two storey bungalow has a bedroom on the main floor with 4 single beds complete with bathroom as well as a master bedroom on the second floor with one king bed and complete bathroom. All the towels and sheets come with chained embroidered motif in navy blue and bathrobes for all guest with a Coco Solo palm logo.
The views look out to a beautiful lagoon and the master bedroom looks out to the sea and lagoon. There is a tennis court, with a rustic cabana with full bathroom and shower which can sleep two, and staff quarters that can sleep 8 all nestled in a beautiful park which is exceptional for these islands.
Amenities on the island include sun umbrellas, loungers for the beach and pool area, many towels for all areas of the property , an ice maker plus every imaginable kitchen utensil from an ice cream maker, vita mix, expresso machine, plastic glasses, real glass wine tumblers, serving platters,etc.
The main Kiosk has views overlooking the sea and lagoon. It has a pool, den, living room, dining room, kitchen and change room with shower. The island has a private beach and we have all the toys: sail fish, water skiing boards, snorkeling equipment, paddle boards, fishing gear, etc.
The island can be fully staffed with cook, helpers and two boat captains. We can provide two boats (priced separately), a Beltran (a fishing style boat) and a smaller boat for water sports, transport of supplies and transport of personnel. The place is fully equipped with internet, television, rustic movie theater, tennis court lights, air conditioning, generators,water tanks and so much more.
Pricing depends on the season and the amount of guests. Single families are preferred rather than many renters. If the guests want to have a party for more than 30, a corporate rate would apply.
