Humphrey Island is located forty miles West of Minneapolis and twenty miles South of St. Cloud Minnesota. This 17-acre historic private island offers a rare opportunity for seclusion with ever changing seasons and natural beauty.
The island was originally funded and named after Hubert Humphrey just after giving a phenomenal speech at camp courage. Humphrey Island was then developed as a camping and nature study site for Camp Courage. It features a diverse terrain of undulating hills, elevations that are up to 75' above the lake level, mix of sand and gravel shores, and it is loaded with a mix of mature hardwood and towering pine trees.
Wildlife on the island is abundant including deer, song birds, and many kinds of small mammals that call Humphrey Island home.
In the summertime, water enthusiasts enjoy Humphrey Island’s 431 acres where boating and kayaking are easily accessible by public access. Anglers enjoy the pristine waters while catching bluegill, sunfish, bass, pike, perch, and walleye.
Humphrey Island’s 50'x70' historic pavilion still stands solid on the island with unlimited potential. The Island offers a great opportunity for development or just a private getaway.
