Grow crops on your island and you can buy things to build the facilities.

I have a small herd of animals, crops, and am going to add some beach chairs and make the island bigger. It is a fun application.
I do like Wind Power but I think it's unwise to try to rely simply on Wind Power to replace Fossil fuels. Wind Power is great but has to be well located to be beneficial in terms of large power plants. In terms of small home wind power generators, go for it.

We should be blending solar, wind, tidal, geo-thermal, and anything else clean we can do to fulfill our power needs. We really should have more potenco pulls out there for one thing and more exercise equipment that feeds power back to the grid. (if you didn't know there are some gyms whose equipment generates electricity from their use, gyms that use these have knocked their power bills down to zero and make a few bucks back from the power company)

How did companies manage following the loss of knowledge and experience after 9/11 or the Tsunami? I am interested in the effects of the sudden loss of accumulated experience and tacit knowledge which exists only in the heads of staff members following a disaster such as 9/11, the Tsunami, or more happily, a syndicate lottery win.
I would definitely love to live in such a house. I think they are definitely a masterpiece of modern architecture and I love modern architecture. The overwater elements look fantastic. I think they had a great sense for the nature.
I love the Caribbean and my absolute favorite island is Curacao. Maybe I will sometime be able to build such a house on Curacao.
Greetings Dearest Islanders

It's been a long, anxious while since the notion of occupying the sweet solitude of an island getaway has been in my thoughts, for the past six months, I have been regaled to the state hospital for delusional lunatics prone to flowery tangents that are entirely disconnected with the banal realities I face in the real world.

Whilst having my little 'rest', the chief court-appointed therapist insisted that I no longer indulge in childish flights of fancy, instead choosing to focus on improving my thus abysmal failure of a real life, but I haven't been able to bring myself to do that, so here I am cobbling up yet another fantasia that bears absolutely no relevance to the miserable daily grind I endure on a daily basis!

While I myself don't own an island property (and given the general prospects of my life, most likely won't ever- barring a lotto strike) I sure do enjoy coming on forums like this and proffering my hilariously bad attempts at prose, structured in their bizarre-and-not-charming way that's so unique to me... for at least within the confines of my own mind, the things I say have meaning and even if they don't, at the very minimum no one will be confused as to the day I wrote them, given that they are not only dated automatically by the forum software, but I take the time to manually date them all in advance for reasons that even I can't figure out.

Oh my ... more news from the Seychelles.

Yacht hijacked by pirates near Seychelles islands

NAIROBI, Kenya (AP) — Two Kenya-based diplomats say a yacht and its crew of seven has been hijacked by pirates near the Seychelles islands off Africa's east coast.

The two separately say the Indian Ocean Explorer was hijacked by pirates on Wednesday. Both diplomats spoke on the condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to speak to the media. One diplomat said the boat was returning from a trip to nearby islands when it was taken. All seven people on board were from the Seychelles, he said.

It was not immediately clear who seized the ship.

Somali pirates are common in the Gulf of Aden. But analysts say an increase in foreign warships patrolling the area has forced pirates to shift their operations east into the Indian Ocean, toward the Seychelles.
