This large private island is a nature-lover's dream come true. Situated in Englishman's Bay, off the lobstering village of Jonesport, Dunn Island is completely forested in spruce and birch. Its 1.6 mile (2.56 km) shoreline has rugged granite ledges and several sandy beaches on the east and south, and a protected anchorage on the western shore.

The island has several streams which run down to its shores, and is home to deer and many types of migratory birds. Seals bask on Seal Rock off its northern point.
