This unique 1-acre island on Booth Lake in East Troy, Wisconsin provides a wonderful retreat from every day life with an emphasis on relaxation and fun. As such, the small two-bedroom island cottage was recently remodeled and refurnished with low-maintenance living in mind. This includes newly installed slate flooring, low-maintenance vinyl siding and windows, and maintenance free aluminum and vinyl piers. After all, island living should be for relaxing and enjoying this beautiful, unique island setting, not for maintaining another home. The cottage interior was recently remodeled to include a new, window-filled 8’ x 15’ sun porch with natural slate flooring. The main living area is 18’ x 24’ and includes a new high efficiency wood stove, natural slate floors, two new matching sleeper sofas and two new matching side chairs.

This main living area also includes a remodeled kitchen with new cabinets, countertops, appliances and a six-person dining table. Island cooking is best enjoyed using the stainless steel grill off the porch, although the kitchen offers a three-burner, stainless steel cook top and bar sink. The new refrigerator can operate on either propane or electric. Electricity is provided by a new, high efficiency, ultra-quiet, Yamaha generator that can run on either propane or gasoline and includes wireless remote starting. Two 100 pound propane tanks provide a summer full of energy for the refrigerator, cook top and generator which provides electricity for the interior lighting, ceiling fans, flat screen TV/DVD, well pump, hot water heater and incinerator toilet.

This unique island cottage has one bedroom with a double bunk bed, with the main living area offering additional bedding for four guests using two sleeper sofas. Booth Lake is a clean, private, natural lake with excellent water quality for swimming, fishing and all other water sports. Booth Lake Memorial Park is located on the southeastern shore and offers a private beach, wooded picnic area, covered pavilion (with public restrooms) and a concession stand (for candy, chips, soda and ice cream). Access is only permitted to residents and property taxpayers of East Troy and Troy, Wisconsin (including the owners and guests of Fairy Island). The Memorial Park beach is small, but clean and well maintained by a caring family that manages the park grounds and park activities, including the lifeguards that are on-duty whenever the beach is open (and swimmers are present).

The northern shore of Booth Lake is home of the Alice Chester Girl Scout Camp which owns over 300 adjacent acres and about 800 feet of predominantly natural shoreline (excluding the 100 feet of sandy beach used for the Girl Scout’s lakeside activities).
