Location
This island treasure, located in Indonesia’s Riau Archipelago, is blessed with pristine white sandy beaches and turquoise waters. Easily accessible from Singapore and Bintan, Joyo offers an ideal beach getaway with comprehensive traditional healthy massages, fabulous food, and much more—all of which complement the island’s romantic location. We are famous for our sunsets and serenity.
Accommodations
Beach Palaces: Four huge Driftwood Palaces (Beach Palaces 1, 2, 3, and 4) capture the very essence of luxurious castaway fantasy. Constructed completely from driftwood salvaged from the sea, each Palace has one king-sized bed, an ensuite shower and bathroom, and a Balinese day-bed (double) for children or additional guests. The spacious living area and sea-view terraces are furnished with sun loungers and sofas, perfect for soaking in the peaceful atmosphere.
Java Palaces - Rembang and Juwana: Traditional Java joglos which have been dismantled and re-assembled on the island. Beautifully furnished in the Javanese style, each palace has an ensuite bathroom and shower and opens straight onto your private beach.
Balé Houses: Two small balé houses by the pool can be used for extra kids, couples, or singles. These have mosquito nets and fans but no attached bathroom. However, there is a bathroom at the Pool Pavilion nearby.
Life at Joyo
The year-round comfortable tropical temperature requires only light and natural fabrics. Polo-style shirts, summer dresses, and sarongs are ideal, with a pashmina or light jacket for the ferry. Shoes are not practical on the soft sandy paths, so we suggest using the sandals provided. A laundry service is offered, but there is no dry cleaning.
The Pool
Our pool is located at the center of the island and is 25 meters long and 4 meters deep. The vast Pool House is home to our well-stocked bar and sound system, making it the perfect place for chilling out and relaxing.
Kids
Pulau Joyo is a paradise for kids, and we can provide nannies to look after them while you enjoy a massage or other facilities. Extra beds and cots are available for children. Kids love Joyo, and we have a safe, fun playground area specially for them.

There is a government-mandated "No Fish Zone" 400 meters from the reef drop-off. We offer top-of-the-line snorkel gear free of charge. The Eastern tip of the island is where the fish are; the best coral is to the South.
Fishing Trips
These trips can be arranged and take place away from the island. Generally, this is Indonesian-style fishing where the boat crew will show you how to bait a hook which is then hung over the side. We have a few fishing rods, but you are welcome to bring your own. Our sailors can arrange bait.
Corporate
Senior executive retreats, departmental team building, high-achieving sales team rewards, or a highly stimulating environment for creative talent. Joyo is suited for, and has hosted, many such corporate trips. Mobile phones work on Joyo if you really have to keep in touch. We have 240-volt electricity for recharging laptops and can provide whiteboards, flip charts, and a projector with a screen.
Dining
Everyone is uniformly complimentary about our food. We generally serve buffet and BBQ-style meals and always manage to cater for all tastes. Guests may choose where and when they dine and may eat as much as they like. Western and Indonesian-style dishes include grilled or barbecued fish, squid, prawns, beef, and chicken, as well as curries of all descriptions. Side dishes include fresh garden salads, pasta salads, boiled/steamed leafy greens, and grilled eggplant. Desserts include fresh fruit, mango sticky rice, sago, and home-made cakes.
Bottled water, tea, and coffee are complimentary.
