The Southern Minks is a spectacular Georgian Bay archipelago comprised of four main islands and numerous granite outcroppings and whale backs.

The Mink Islands, originally an active fishing community at the turn of the century, is situated approximately 5 nautical miles west of Snug Harbour.

The four islands that comprise the Southern Minks – Heather Island (approx. 6.36 ac), Dominion Island (approx. 3.2ac) Pine Island (approx. 2.27ac) and Island E69 (approx. 1.92ac) are configured in such a way as to create a perfect natural harbor.

All enjoy magnificent 360 degree views, sparkling clear water and ultimate privacy.

Heather Island

Heather Island, (E71) the largest island in the archipelago, has a main lodge, ‘Wild Iris Hall’, and two sleeping cottages, ‘Versailles’ and ‘The Gazebo’.

The kitchen was newly fitted in 2015 with solar fridge, propane stove and washer and dryer and off the kitchen a large larder and a two piece bath.

Versailles

Versailles is a 3000  sq. ft. sleeping cabin with a Master Bedroom, sitting room with small kitchenette, bunk room/office 2 pc. bath, outdoor shower and a screened in porch.

The Gazebo

The Gazebo is sized at 1600 sq.ft. and houses a bedroom , sitting room, kitchen, 2-piece bath and outdoor shower.

It has windows on all sides with 360 degree views and a wraparound porch/sun deck.

The kitchen is equipped with an AGA wood burning stove, hot plate and bar fridge.

Heather Island is powered by a state of the art solar system with deep cycle battery storage and a back-up generator system.

The only other structure on Heather is a tool and equipment shed.

Dominion Island

Dominion Island (E72) features a 2200 sq.ft  main cottage with a large ‘Yurt Style’ living/dining room, newly equipped kitchen with marble countertops, deep wooden drawers, refrigerator, washer/dryer, propane stove, and two bedrooms each with three piece bath. Floor to ceiling windows in the circular living/dining area reveal spectacular sunset views and a sun deck wraps around the entire structure.

An outdoor shower is discreetly placed at the back of the cottage.

The cottage is solar powered, the system updated in 2014 and is more than adequate to power washer & dryer, refrigerator and electrical outlets.  Stove and lamps are powered by propane.

A backup generator is on site but its use has never been required.

A two bedroom, 1400 sq. ft. sleeping cabin was added in 2015. The bedrooms share a glazed and screened sun porch, a 3-piece bath and an outdoor shower.

Dominion also has a large boat dock built in 2015 and a 20 sq.ft. tool shed which includes roofed in vehicle storage.

Pine Island

A suspension bridge links Heather Island to Pine Island (E70).

Pine almost appears to be three distinct islands, however the three land masses are joined in current water levels. The configuration of Pine Island allows for maximum privacy for the two sleeping cabins situated each on a separate portion of the island.

Honeymoon Cabin

Sleeping Cabin #1, Honeymoon Cabin, named for its most remote location, was originally a fishing cabin. It has been rebuilt into a 500sq.ft. bedroom with small bath, an outdoor shower, private deck and private swimming area.

The Bunky

Sleeping Cabin #2, The Bunky is 500sq, ft. with a sleeping loft, w/c, sink and outdoor shower.

Island E69

This Island is vacant and is used as a picnic island, however there is room to build on it and a structure

would be permitted.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to acquire one of the most magnificent Archipelagos ever to come on the market in Georgian Bay.
