Nosy Saba, an ecolodge of 320 acres, is a one-of-a-kind destination. The private island built its reputation since 2014 on the beauty of its site, its fauna and wild flora intimately preserved, and its 3 miles of gorgeous white sand beach. The island offers comfortable accommodations and a warm, motivated, and professional staff.
Access
Nosy Saba Island Resort & Spa is reachable by boat (3 hours) or by plane (35 minutes). It is located 80 nautical miles from the south of Nosy Be, also called the "fragrant island," and only 5 miles from the coast of Madagascar. It is also possible to come from the capital Antananarivo by plane (2 hours 15 minutes).
Sea
The clear turquoise water, always at a nice temperature, reveals its underwater marvels: millions of colorful fish and corals. One of the beaches is home to hundreds of white birds. Some private and isolated creeks, reachable by foot or by boat, are some of the most beautiful spots on the island. The beach of Vitasoa and the Ampasikely creek are very well appreciated by naturists. The island presents many kinds of beaches.
Amazing Wildlife
Nosy Saba island is a natural heritage located in a UNESCO Biosphere Marine Reserve and protected by the Malagasy National Office for Environment because of its very rich fauna and flora.
During boat rides, it is not rare to encounter sea turtles approaching the land to lay their eggs or to see playful dolphins navigating along with the boat.
More than 40 species of birds (parakeets, guinea fowls, herons), butterflies in all colors, blue-eyed lemurs, chameleons, very uncommon geckos, big bats, and numerous sea animals live in perfect harmony with humans.
The island features 30 acres of primary forest, huge trees, hundreds of palm trees, mango trees, 600-year-old ferns, luxuriant vegetation, natural lakes, and steppe, making Nosy Saba's environment exceptional.
Activities
Many possibilities are suggested, including trekking, swimming in a 500 m² pool or in the sea, snorkeling, canoeing, windsurfing, water skiing, kneeboarding, snooker, Ping Pong, jacuzzi, massages, archery, golf practice, and fishing.
For the explorers, many destinations are accessible by boat for the day, including Nosy Lava, Nosy Antany Mora, Radama Archipelago, Sahamalaza Park, and Analalava village.
Gastronomy
Two cozy restaurants managed by a head chef prepare original menus daily, with local or occidental ultra-fresh products like zebu (local beef), fish, lobsters, mangos, green lemons, and coconuts from the island. Bread and viennoiseries are made on-site. The barman can create both conventional and exotic cocktails.
Accommodations
Nosy Saba Island Resort & Spa is equipped with 27 bungalows spread along the main beach, each with direct access to the sea on the west side and surrounded by gardens and trees on the other sides.
Painted in earth (or savannah) tones with roofs made from "satrana" (local palm tree) leaves, all bungalows, called "Suites," ensure a high level of cleanliness and natural comfort. There are two types of suites:
12 Junior Suites: 800 sq ft, accommodating 2 people (with extra bed: 3 people).
15 Senior Suites: 1130 sq ft, accommodating 4 people (with two extra beds: 6 people). Cribs can be provided if needed.
