Woodmere Island is located on southern Lake Rosseau, approximately 200 km. north of and less than 2 hours away from Toronto with easy access from either Highway 11 or Hwy 400.

The property provides sleeping for over 30 people in charming cottages and Adirondack styled guest cabins which are idyllically positioned in carefully selected locations at the waters’ edge or inland to best afford privacy for their occupants.

This island includes increasingly rare deeded docking and parking on the mainland mere minutes away and is located within close proximity to some wonderful amenities.

Boathouse

Boasting unparalleled sunset views from the upper level terrace, the boathouse is a luxuriously appointed hideaway featuring two boat slips, three bedrooms and a four-piece ensuite.

Grand Dining Lodge

Gathering together for communal meals and merriment will come easily in the Grand Dining Lodge. Featuring walls of windows on two sides offering fantastic water views, a cathedral ceiling with exposed beams, a two-piece powder room and a fabulous, a floor-to-ceiling, stone fireplace around which everyone can sit and relax, this is a high-end take of a “rustic” lodge.

Landscaping

Outside the Grand Dining Lodge, a flagstone patio edged by flowerbeds bursting with color is a truly enchanting spot for enjoying the sun while an outdoor fireplace will allow you to take advantage of the beautiful, late fall evenings.

The island Pavilion is another magnificently finished communal space – this time created for fun and amusement. Surrounded by windows, fronted by a lush lawn and featuring a cheerful, stone fireplace, it is ideal for planning parties, games and more!

About the Area

Encompassing a natural playground of over 1,600 freshwater lakes, it is of no surprise that National Geographic named Muskoka as Canada’s top summer destination in 2011.

Muskoka has just over 50,000 permanent residents, but an additional 100,000 seasonal property owners spend their summers in the region every year, making this a major summer colony and year round destination. Many of the seasonal properties are large mansion-like summer estates, some of which have been passed down through families from generation to generation.

Most of these expensive properties can be found along the shores of Muskoka’s three major lakes: Lake Muskoka, Lake Rosseau, and Lake Joseph. In recent years, various Hollywood and sports stars have built retreats in Muskoka.
