Palette Island is nestled near the only protected harbour on the Canadian side of Lake Superior. At 4.5 acres, and shaped like an artist’s palette, this Island is a paradise for anyone seeking complete privacy, yet only 30 minutes from the City of Thunder Bay – including the boat ride.
A natural harbour awaits you to dock your boat(s), with a view of a windmill providing water to a natural pond. Then walk up the stairs to enjoy a 190° view of the mainland, other islands, and the Sibley Peninsula, a.k.a. "The Sleeping Giant". On many clear days, you can see Isle Royal, U.S.A. 40 miles away.
A bird sanctuary of over 100 tree swallow nesting boxes, over 50 different species of birds, and other animals embrace you, as you walk along the island road. On the south side of the home, you are greeted by beautifully manicured gardens, a pond and a greenhouse.
This year-round 2367 sq. ft. home (including the second floor), two-storey home, built in 1990, is powered and heated by an underwater electric cable, fully furnished, and includes all of the amenities: showers, Jacuzzi, washer and dryer, dishwasher, refrigerators, ovens, computer with wireless internet, two fireplaces, and more. The second storey is comprised of the master bedroom with ensuite and two balconies. This exquisite home is surrounded by a 2000 sq. ft. deck, including hot tub, with decks on two other levels. The second building includes a two-car garage with man door, and a 750 sq. ft. guest loft that sleeps four comfortably. The garage is equipped with state-of-the-art woodworking equipment, two ATV’s, and virtually all of the tools that you will ever need to be self-sustaining on your secluded Island.
Palette Island is equipped with a 16’ aluminum boat & motor, Sea-Doo, 19’ cabin cruiser & motor, a pontoon boat with motor, and all with trailers for transporting.
Although via boat is the usual access to the island, there have been numerous visits from helicopters as well.

Included in the package is Kent Island, located approximately 1000 meters south of Palette. It is 2 acres, and a perfect boat ride destination for a picnic. This Island has been kept in its natural state, and it includes gooseberries, Saskatoon berries, as well as red currents. A treat for the summer palette and/or baking some tasty pies.
