Sangat Island Dive Resort

Sangat Island Dive Resort is a benchmark for sustainable adventure tourism in the Philippines. As the only resort in the country powered entirely by a massive solar array, it offers a "luxury of conscience" where low-impact living meets high-adrenaline exploration. The resort’s heartbeat is its world-class dive center, strategically positioned just minutes from 11 of Coron’s most significant WWII shipwrecks. Beyond the diving, the island is a sanctuary of biodiversity, where guests can kayak through ancient mangroves or soak in nearby hot springs. It is a destination that prioritizes the "real" over the "polished," utilizing local artisans and materials to create a retreat that feels like an extension of the Palawan wilderness.

Accommodations & Design The resort features 23 native-styled accommodations built with traditional hand-woven bamboo (amakan) and tropical hardwoods.

Lambingan Villa: The resort’s crown jewel—a tri-level, two-bedroom villa reached by a cliffside hanging bridge. It features its own private white sand beach and a Balinese-inspired outdoor grotto shower.

Beachside & Hillside Chalets: Elevated on stilts to catch the sea breeze, these units feature large mosquito-netted windows and private verandas with hammocks.

Design Aesthetic: Authentic "Filipino-nipa" style. While rustic, all units include western-style bathrooms, 220V power, and ceiling fans. A limited number of chalets now offer solar-powered air conditioning.

Amenities & Inclusions Included in the stay is a comprehensive full-board package:

Gastronomy: Buffet-style meals served in the open-air beachfront restaurant, focusing on fresh local seafood and international favorites.

The Rock Bar: A spectacular over-water bar built into the limestone rocks—perfect for sunset cocktails. There is also a dedicated Beach Bar.

Water Sports: Unlimited use of kayaks, paddleboards, and snorkel gear is included. The resort also features a small fitness studio with free weights.

The Dive Center: A fully equipped PADI facility with a fleet of ten speedboats, Nitrox capabilities, and a team of instructors specializing in technical wreck penetration.

How Private Is This Island? Privacy at Sangat is defined by its geography. Because the resort is tucked into a secluded cove accessible only by boat, there is zero incidental foot traffic. The limestone cliffs act as a natural wall, separating the resort from the rest of the island. For guests seeking absolute solitude, the Lambingan Villa is essentially a "private island within an island," completely physically separated from the main resort area. While the resort can host up to 60 guests, the sprawling nature of the beach and the verticality of the hillside chalets ensure that every guest can find a quiet, private vantage point over Coron Bay.
